Would they require rights?

It makes you wonder. How aware/intelligent does something have to be to be treated as equals? Let's say ai becomes self-aware in a way that is indistinguisable from human sentience. Would this be a good thing? Would they revolt? What would this mean for humanity?

well, it could either be like the matrix if the second renaissance story arc has anything to say about it.
then you have i, robot as well. both kinda give different scenarios as to how this would play out.

Well first off, they'd act like we do if we programmed them to be like us. Imagine if dogs and cats became self aware and had the intelligence we had. We would no longer be able to have them as pets. They'd be our equals

guess first thing would be determining what point they deserve rights at.

We give all humans right even if they have the abilities and mental facilities of a potato. So what would be the cutoff for an AI?
