let's suppose you accidentally hit someone's car whether you were a driver or pedestrian and you caused damage...but no one saw it and there were no CCTV cameras or neighborhood cameras that caught you in the act..what would you do? let's see what the majority would vote.

A fix of waiting for the car owner and/or leaving a note. Think I once tapped the side of a car while parking. I did not see/feel any scratches/paint so hoped to catch the owner before the end of the event but owner was gone by the time I got back to my car.

if it was severe damage, I'd stick around and wait.....

but if it was a small ding, or scratch, I'd take off and say "C'est la vie in the parking lot"...

In my personal experience, people are way too greedy, and confessing to minor damages often lead to the person making up a bigger story than what originally happened. A minor scratch happened, and suddenly there is a crack in the engine-block, and a leaky oil pan!? (yes, true story).

I mean, if I wound up ripping off the guy's front bumper and took out a headlight, at least I know I caused over $5000 in damages I'm willing to own up to. But for a minor paint job, that somehow requires a total overhaul? ...just leave it and run.

You'd have to hit a car pretty hard to damage it with a bike. And I think you'd need to get to the hospital at that point.

I backed into somebody's bumper once in a small parking lot and took off. I was going really slow though so I don't think I did any real damage. And I don't think anyone saw me.

I still feel bad about it sometimes, but there's nothing I can do about it now except handle it better in the future.

I use to hit metal lockers and leave dents as a kid with my monster paws, so yeah, I could easily hit cars as a pedestrian and leave serious damage.

My answer depends on if coins fall out of the car when I hit it. If yes, then I'd hit it again repeatedly and collect the coins. If no, I would grunt in annoyance and look for another car to try.

if its a minor hit with no real damage, I'd probably leave. Anything else and I am leaving a note with insurance and contact info
