Watching lots of random cartoons on Nick and Cartoon Network, buying those weird as fuck insect trading cards(?) from the ice cream truck (one of them being some kinda mosquito being squished on the windshield), playing Pokemon red or Kirby for hours on my old game boy and having Pokemon battles with some friends at school.

I have repressed memory of television being not on-demand streaming.

Disgusting. Fucking disgusting. You have 1 dentist appointment, suddenly missed an episode of dragon ball.

Parents ask you to go to relatives house, which i hate, miss another episode.

Fuck television. All hail streaming

Playing the first games with 3d when it was now tech and thinking "Omg it's so real".

Kablaam, Dexter's Lab, Ren and Stimpy.

Asking if anyone has any phone calls to make before signing into the internet.

That is my memory of 90s and early 2000s internet it was awful. I don't understand people are nostalgic for it. Glad that shit is extinct buried underground forever.

Seriously fuck all old technologies and fuck all retro tech nerds. I have so many repressed memories about old computers, television and such. Fuck those things to death

Having neck cramps leaving Walmart because all the game demo kiosk TVs were above the games. You had to constantly be looking up to play game.

I always rigged the VHS to record the episodes I was going to miss. But when it was time for a longer trip, the tape usually ended up running out before the end, so I missed multiple climactic scenes.

Being raised by tv. Luckily, it was a cartoon renaissance.

Everything with any kind of recognizable brand had ridiculous production value. Pizza Hut gave out full VHS tapes of popular shows at one point. Transformers in happy meals. The gold-plated pokemon slabs from Burger King. Full 5 foot statues of any given ninja turtle or mario or whatever right by the relevant toy/game aisle. Game manuals were thick with pages full of illustration and new car smell.

Pogs. Pogs everywhere. All the time, inexplicably. You know how glitter never really goes away, and you will randomly find a bit on your finger or a shelf or whatever? That was Pogs. They stopped showing up, and the 90s were over.

Arcade cabinets in every pizzeria, movie rental, laundromat, and rec center.

Snacks were a quarter. Juice, milk, soda, a pack of gum, chips, the spanish stuff like macaroons and shredded coconut globs. Chocolate bars were twice the price, tiny things were a nickel.

Videogame rumors abound. I miss that. So many false impossible unlocks: Shen Long in Street Fighter, Sonic in Smash, ERMAC in Mortal Kombat (he only became real after this bug was acknowledged), the nude Tomb Raider cheat code, it goes on.

Kids WB every Sat, and Toonami, and cartoon cartoon Friday's mostly. Especially the latter. I loved it and cartoonnetwork.coms orbit as well, which was sorta a Facebook for kids, with competitive games, collectibles you could obtain through currency , trade, or the auction house. And even some by watching CCFs and obtaining special codes.

The connection between the cable network and its website was a amazing experience we're probably never going to see again.
