Specifically, I plan on voting Biden, but I live in Alabama. All the Yo Yorgenson fan club are telling me that I might as well vote 3rd party, because Alabama is going red no matter what. So I guess their logic is that a blue vote from Alabama will accomplish nothing, but a 3rd party vote will at least be helpful towards getting a 5% vote for a third party so that they can receive funding in the future maybe.

I have been feeling this whole time like a vote for 3rd party is a vote for Trump, but is there any truth to what they're saying?

Hell no because just in case Trump tries to win the vote thru the SC or something, a large popular vote loss will make it harder

Voting against the majority is how you turn a state into a swing state. Anyone telling you not to vote is saying, I'm afraid of your vote.

Alabama as recently as the early 90s, had 5 of its 7 house members as Democrats. Which is the other part. You don't only vote for president on election day.

And if you want the cynical approach. The only way politicians will cater to you is if you vote.

For President Yes. For Senate, Mayor, House etc it depends. Some races can be close.

California reporting in. No chance in hell we go red for prez.
I'm still voting for Biden (and blue down the ballot). Need to send a message even if it doesn't ultimately matter because the electoral college is stupid and racist.
