For example, pre-Batman Gotham being what he is - a wretched hive full of criminals and corruption - the League decided that it would be more simple just to destroy the city outright, rather than try to cleance it man by man. One of their former warriors though, being Gothamite himself, naturally opposed the idea, fought against it, and ~~may~~ ~~have accidently destroyed the entirety of the League along with its leader Ras al Ghul.~~ Years after, here comes Bane - also a former warrior of the League, but closely devoted to Ras and his agenda. He decides to finish what his leader and substitute father started - destroy Gotham along with all its inhabitans. Only Bane desired to avenge him as well - and because of that, he wanted not just pull the trigger and leave, but also ~~rub these deaths and destruction in Waynes face~~~~, breaking him in the process physically and mentally.~~ --- Don't like it?
