For the UKs breach of the legally binding agreement on Brexit.

Dear Britons, that Johnson guy and his Conservatives are really screwing you over. You are at risk of becoming a pariah state if this keeps up. The move has also angered some of your US allies including Joe Biden, so if he wins the US election then you might find yourself without trade deals with both the EU and the US.

I've read that about half of Britain's food is imported. If all those trade deals it has now end (and they will end soon) and new ones won't be made for years (and they do take years to make), then Britan's looking at a prolonged and severe scarcity of food.
But who needs food when you have sovereignty!

I dunno exactly what youre blabbering about calling me a liberal but if you sign an International treaty and suddenly decide to break it then that has consequences. Personal responsibility is a thing. You have rights AND obligations.

Delving deeper into this, the UK law that EU is peeved about also endangers the Good Friday Agreement. The GFA ended the decades of violence in Northern Ireland, and the US would not take it kindly if the GFA was to be violated. Hence, if the UK doesn't back down, then the US won't trade with the UK.

a fractured eu is bad for that continent, that just strengthens the russians and they've always had aspirations of conquering europe but the uk will be fine, they have their us allies to fall back on and the eu will stay strong so long as they stay together. so one of the members leaves? ok, it isnt the end of the world so long as it doesnt set off a domino effect.

the key is to never dissolve nato, it has kept the peace and brought them the most prosperous era in european history, some eu states want to dissolve it which i think would be suicide, they would become easy pickings for russia
This is something we agree on. The EU needs to stand strong and united on diplomacy, defense, trade, the environment and immigration. Russia and China are both dangerous nations we need to keep at bay.

My country has never been a NATO-Member but we collaborate with NATO against Russia.

The UK officially left the EU in January. What were in now is a transitional period that is almost over and the UK has yet to make new deals with the EU.

The stakes of treaty violation are stuff like sanctions. So the EU suing the UK is the most suitable description.

The biiiiiig issue is how the British have handled it.

* Votes to leave the EU.

* But cannot agree with themselves on how they wanna leave until several years have gone by.

* Once they know how they want the divorce from the EU to be and sign an agreement with the EU on the divorce, they violate it.

The conservatives put the EU referendum in their 2015 manifesto as a way to stop votes going to UKIP. They expected another coalition government with the Lib Dems, who would block it. They unexpectedly won a majority in 2015 and put the referendum to a vote in the house of commons. All MPs from all parties (except the SNP and Sinn Fein) voted in favour of putting it to the people.

Labour had 5 MPs who championed leaving the EU who founded Labour Leave (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Leave), let's not forget before he became leader of the Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn was a life-long eurosceptic who had called for the UK not to join the EU in the past. You don't have to be right-wing to be a eurosceptic. The 17 million people who voted to Leave the EU are not all right-wing. The north of England, a Labour stronghold (until 2019) almost entirely voted to leave. In the 70s and 80s, the positions of the two major parties were reversed. Labour was anti-EU and the Conservatives were pro-EU. The Conservatives were pro-EU until the mid 2000s when the UKIP rot started to seep into the party for instance.

And I'm sorry I don't have a signature as marvellous as yours to go with your outstanding posts.

Most of them however are

Its insane you're even trying to deny this. Your own argument Is against it.

You're literally pretending UKIP and the Conservatives aren't right wing and that outliers on Labour mean the scales are equal

No, Brexit is, was and always will be a right wing Enterprise

The lib dems championed a second referendum
The SNPs claim they want another Scottish independence referendum due to Brexit because they all hate it.

Labour by your own admission nearly universally opposed it and Miliband literally point blank refused a referendum in his campaign because he thought it was so bad an idea

You made the bed, you lie in it. Brexit and its horrific idiocy and consequences are the result of the right wing. The left was not calling for it

A key part of the Withdrawal Agreement the UK and each of the EU-countries signed is that the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will remain open as it has been while the UK was an EU-member. Now the UK Parliament has voted through a law which violates this and could result in a hard border between NI and RoI.

There's more than one but the biggest one is Ireland.

The Republic of Ireland is not part of the UK. Northern Island is. They are seperate countries but yet are the same island.

https://i.imgur.com/7f1xxg3.jpg

Ireland is remaining in the EU. Brexit had nothing to do with them. Northern Ireland is leaving the EU due to Brexit. When they were in the EU there was freedom of movement, now the UK has left, there is no more freedom of movement between nations.

Which means the boarder is now a huge fucking issue.

It's a complicated history but let's just say the relationship between Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland is "Complex" with a lot of violence. You can't just place a hard boarder between the 2 without a ton of people dying and a rise of terrorism (which is already occuring) as well as family/friend seperation from people who have enjoyed the freedom of movement for decades. However now the fact one is part of the EU and one isn't with no boarder controls is going to fuck up trade, exports, smuggling etc between Ireland (Both) and the EU.

The World Trade Organizaton has a rule called the most favoured nation rule' which means you can't treat any nation differently to any other (on tarrifs, checks, rules etc) unless the nations involved all have an agreed upon trade deal. Since the EU and Ireland do but Northern Ireland doesn't. Not having a boarder literally defies international law.

There would also be nothing stopping trade from the UK going to the EU or back and forth through Ireland using Northern Ireland with no boarder.

So it's impossible to have a hard boarder, it's a terrible idea to not have a hard boarder.... WTF do you do?

Some level of restrictions and checks and rules? What are they? How are they implemented? Where's the money coming from to do it? IS movement going to be restricted?

England has been floating dozens of proposals for years now but they all suck. Now they are like "lol we don't care lol" and seem to be making it up as they go along. So naturally the EU is pissed and the Irish are concerned.

The UK, particularly the English and mainly the right wing in England really are the villains in this one. It's just another example of how stupid Brexit is and how much of a clusterfuck the conservatives are.
