I'm playing it again and I got further than I did last time and there are just a lot of little neat things and while I might enjoy some of this, I can pretty much guess that it got shit on by everyone else and I don't remember too much other than the creators yelling at people to leave the Hinterlands because everyone kept staying there for hours and hours.

I'd like your input though.

On the whole i dont think so.

That fucking endless quest at the party where you gotta eavesdrop a ton was just shit though. Not fun at all.

When you mean too much party interaction, do you mean when they're around in the field and they talk to each other? Because I actually like those little bits that seem to flesh them out a little. Or at least show what they think of each other.

Well I don't think I've gotten that quest. Or maybe I'm just not following which quest you're talking about but I did the Wardens quest and it was way longer than I'd like it to be. I was in the keep, cool...then I'm like "okay, quest done, time to go to bed" and then I get shot into the fade and..I just couldn't not finish it..

Was pretty good, but slightly overrated since the Main Quest is pretty short and the maps are filled with pointless, boring fetch quests.

One thing I'll demonize about this game is that...damn...no one agrees with anything in this party and I MAY be the only one who likes Solas.

Its funny, I expected everything else to do it too but its so weird that they gave the first open area with what seemed to give the MOST quests ever...instead of letting you wait until later. Why couldn't they just give us a bunch of short areas first? Like the Mire. The fact that they had to tell people to move on should have hit them first when they were making it...did they think everyone was just not going to leave?

I actually finished the Hinterlands, or as much as I could finish, even getting those damn fades and the dragon before I even left it. I'm not a completionist by any means but I hate not finishing something...like I almost left the fade without doing that little side quest...I scoured everywhere to make sure I got it done...even after the mission sign disappeared from my map.

No, I think it was pretty fun. But, it's often fun despite itself -- a ton of silly or stupid decisions went into things. Hinterlands were gigantic AND boring, and when you add in those little fragments you had to find for a sidequest (one that would give bad rewards after it's finally completed, 'cause you're powerlevelled, probably), it's just not great. Going into an empty map, finding encampments, raw materials, little forts and citadels to take over, astrology puzzles...those were fine.

I hope DA4 gets rid of those stupid wartable quests, too. Imagine having to spend 24 REAL hours doing quests and the game going "invite this agent and cut that down by 5% LOL", as if that's truly significant. That's gacha-level trash and wholly boring.

1 is still a top 3 game of all time tho

I had this whole feeling that they knew that no one was going to like her because they added a "You don't fit in with the inquisition" bit which could have you send her away at any time. My only issue was how difficult she was and maybe she was too passionate? Or just so rash. That time you question this noble and she's yelling at you for asking questions and I'm like "SHUT THE FUCK UP SO I CAN TALK."

I'm worried about Dragon Age 4 though...because we all saw how Andromeda came out...and we all know bioware isn't getting any better.

In one of the screens/concept art/whatever for DA4, they showed Dorian (?) diving underwater, so all is not lost!

my fuckin warden was such a stone cold savage. bloodmage with arcane warrior. warden commander helm with tevinter robes. wielded vigilance iirc. god what a fuckin legend. only to be done dirty and forgotten

I enjoyed it. Most people that shit on it are the ones who have to do every little side quests and collect everything. Like, of course it become tedious and boring after a while.

As for the users above talking about the party quest, you dont have to do all of the tasks there. You can get full approval without having to do any of the eavesdropping or any of that.

i loved the game in comparison to DA2, but it was essentially a really watered down DA:O with too many fetch quests and an open world that could get pretty boring if you spent to much time in one area.

also, most of the companions were crap. only ones that stood out to me were dorian and cole, sadly i dont think we'll see companions are interesting as morrigan/leliana/zervan/shale again.

i had the glitch where my companions never spoke in-game and even then i still liked Bull. you didnt like Bull?

also im really fuckin mad i didnt get the option to kill morrigan. fuckin detest her. fuckin loathe her

The worst thing about Inquisition was Snofleurs.

They drop Tier 3 leather but they're just so fucking fat and defenseless.

I felt like a monster, executing them by the dozens for my fantastic crafted gear.

I probably killed 1000 of those in Emprise du Lion on that giant ice lake. Didn't they also drop something else that was useful? My team just ran around in circles a few times, fast travelled away, then came back for another slaughter.

i never used bull, so i never got much interested in him; he reminded me of oghren without being as fucking hilarious. you'll notice i stole one of his quotes in my sig though, so at least there is that...

and i'm pretty sure you could kill morrigan, or at least make the attempt at it, in the end of witch hunt; not that i'd ever try to kill best girl morrigan.

Solas and Iron Bull have this weird thing with each other where they seem to annoy each other and Cole comes out and the way Iron Bull is scared of him lol.

definitely not gonna play it tomorrow and basically experience the game for the first time for real since my friends'll talk to each other in-game. definitely not. stop

It's a game where all the dlc is basically mandatory to enjoy it best. The dlc's are better than the main game, and the final one retooled most of the entire game for the better.

It was fun at the time, but it's gameplay has not aged. It was tedious then, but in a post witcher 3 world, it's beyond bareable. I used to replay it all the time for shits and giggles. I couldn't make it passed haven in my most recent attempt to play it, it feels so lifeless.

I agree with this. I hated half the cast-- Sera, Vivienne, Iron Bull, Cassandra, Solas. Dorian was the only one I liked... well, and Varric, but Varric was a lot more fun in DA2.

The Dorian romance is the best gay romance in any game ever, which isn't a long list I know. It's so good it's even great as a straight guy. It's the only one worth a damn in that game too. It's actually quite touching.

Do it.

Dont focus on beating the game. I made that mistake the first one I played. I was left disappointed and didnt pick it back up again until much later. The next time I played I just focused on exploring all the maps and building my character. I enjoyed it immensely. When I make a new chars I usually play until I get to Skyhold and dont even bother advancing the story for the most part.

Youll find it it much more enjoyable when you play it for the sake of playing it instead of having some sort of focused objective.

I think it's a very fun game. The important thing is you can't stay in one area too long, or else you'll burn yourself out on the grind.
