Based on some of Aka's interviews, it seems the plan is around 300 chapters total?

Wahrheit continues to surprise.

Episode 3 is what I can only assume was a generic quest from the gacha, but it was turned into a compelling narrative both in direction and visuals. I'm very much looking forward to the promise of what's to come granted by the promotional art, too, though I almost would have preferred it be a surprise.

Eh, that probably wasn't the right way to express it. It ties into how the show presents these con artists as paragons of morality and heroes, I guess. Him trying to be a good person or whatever never feels like it fits in with his character. Spoilers up to ep 16: Like him turning himself in at the end of the first arc, or selling the real painting instead of the fake in the third arc, or getting a "real job" to make an honest living in the fourth arc. I'm not a fan of the way it portrays the main cast as super good guys in general, honestly.

One other thing that feels odd is how poor they seem all the time. Like is Cynthia seriously desperate enough to blow a guy to scam him after making probably $10 million the first arc? How come they have barely enough money to lose $2.5M in the bet in the second arc? I dunno. Makoto never seems to have any money either, despite stealing a bunch in the second and third arcs.

Any of you fellow nerds know whether the Megumin LN or Megumi manga is better?

I read the first two ln of the Megumin spinoff. I'd say it's probably a little worse than the main series since I think the series in general kind of needs Kazuma to tie everyone else's gags/quirks together and move between skits. Though some of the running gags are different (here jokes about Megumin tend to focus more on her being poor as dirt and desperate for food/money than just being fixated on exploding things). The plot of the first volume kind of ties into the plot of volume 9 in the main series, but other than that I think it's mainly just smaller references to characters and such.

best part was Megumin and Yunyun both telling each other something to the effect of "I'm worried about you because you're a loser and have no friends so I'm worried that you'd fall head over heels for the first loser who's a little bit nice to you and he'll just keep taking advantage of you (but that won't happen to me because I have super high standards and excellent taste in men)" lol

don't know about the manga but I assume it's mostly the same content just in manga form and spread out over more volumes.

I thought her interaction with the sister was cute...then she did that foolishness while she was leaving. Something about Shimamura irks me, but the show is very pretty and Adachi is too cute for me to drop it.

Iwaihime was a fucking trip. Bit of a relief to play a VN that's not super long. Pretty sure that took less time than episode 1 of Ciconia?
