Was intrigued by the inclusion of ~~Hidden Palace Zone, originally a scraped stage from development included in this version of the game as a secret to find~~. I'm actually impressed by the amount of skilled platforming required to reach alternate routes in each stage, something I appreciate about this game now but overlooked when I was younger (as a kid I would just abuse the spin dash, go as fast as possible and miss a lot of stuff). --- The Phantom has spoken! <cite>Phantom36 posted [p:945438705] in Sonic the ... Also in my run I collected all chaos emeralds (I played as Sonic alone without Tails, the bonus stages are much easier that way because they require fewer rings and Tails won'y get hit and lose all your rings), one thing I love about this version of the game is that you don't automatically go Super Sonic when you collect enough rings, you have to double-press the jump button to activate it, so I deliberately tried to fight most bosses without going super --- The Phantom has spoken! <cite>Phantom36 posted [p:945439664] in Sonic the ... I actually like it, as you practice you learn how to dodge the shooting star spikes and it becomes fun. It's just that 3 acts is too much (one thing that was always bit off-putting for me when it came to Sonic 1).
