To reiterate, this is a breathtakingly bad play on Trump's part. Up until this point, partisanship allowed either side to blame the other for the delay in getting a second stimulus. Now Trump has publicly said, and in no uncertain terms (for a change), that he is doing what he can to keep relief money out of the hands of the American public unless he's reelected. Not just Democrats, all Americans. All of that heat will now be brought down squarely on his shoulders. This will blow up in his face spectacularly.
