Likely in the top half of the alphabet in terms of excellence. Jesse_Custer posted... The DC Cinematic Universe I gave up on it early. I still haven't seen Aquaman, Justice League, Suicide Squad, or Birds of Prey. There is a lot not to like about the movies. I first watched Man of Steel about a year and half after it released, and despite knowing a lot about it before going in, I recall mentioning just how badly the script disappointed me when talking to my friend. I don't much care for Zack Snyder's films or how driven he is at recreating iconic comic book panels over story and character work. Batman v Superman had some highlights, but was mired with even more dumb, dumb, dumb choices (jolly rancher, jar of piss, Eisenberg, do you bleed, ten minute dossier advertisement for upcoming movies, save martha, Superman feels like a third wheel in his own movie, etc.). Wonder Woman happened to be alright, but suffered most of the same storybeats and problems Captain America: The First Avenger did (mostly great first two-thirds, barely watchable final third among others). There are things to like, but they all have caveats. There's some amazing casting (Cavill, Affleck, and Gadot are PERFECT in spite the material; can you imagine how good the Superman movies would be if we had Man From UNCLE or Witcher quality writing and direction for Cavill? And Momoa and Robbie are amazing from what I hear, and Jeremy Irons' Alfred), but some of the most headshakingly awful (Eisenberg, Leto) or big name casting to big name cast (Will Smith, Costner). And Warner Bros. jerking around with trying to catch up to MCU is blatant and terrible most of the time. DC has a lot of good things, especially animated. I haven't checked out his horror ranking topic, but whenever it's comic-related, I usually jump in and participate and enjoy. It felt weird typing out the ten fives. I got blasted into nostalgia of past nomination topics, particularly, I believe, my failed effort in getting a 4096 character bracket up and running. Very prolific, lots of good noms, great user. If it's a prank with a smallish snip, it sucks for you because it may take a while to notice why your friend is laughing behind your back. If it's full on head massacre, that's just awful and uncool. I definitely enjoyed watching it, but think I missed the boat playing with others, and don't feel the urge to go and grab it anytime soon. I've always liked Lambert a lot but her album, Wildcard, released last year really pushed her into becoming a top ten artist for me. That album merges both vintage country with a fantastic rock sound in a way that manages to be a ton of fun & typically humorous but also hits emotional, melancholic highs like no other. It's one of my favorites of the decade for sure. He never felt nearly as good after the first game, but I cannot speak for Ultimate. The sounds of Kirby's drill kick, suck, and taunt are etched in my memory.
