Case in point: Bill Burr's SNL monologue.

If I google it, I can see every publication of note that pops up is telling me that not only did he bomb, but he was so offensive and gross that he should be cancelled from every respectable show. Controversial, dangerous, sexist, misogynistic, racist, tired, outdated, etc.

When I read the comments section on any of these articles and on the youtube video itself, I see unreserved approval and support of the routine. Not like, 75% support. More like 98% support. On top of this, there's a lot of people very angry about the "snowflakes" who can't handle offensive comedy material.

What I can't see is a single actually offended person. The snowflakes do not appear to exist, or at least there are so few of them it's not even a thing. Maybe if I dive through twitter or on one of these articles I see one or two white women on twitter who used the word "problematic"...but is that it? Is that news now?

2 people on twitter say the word "problematic" and now Esquire and The Guardian can write a fucking article about it?

Consider that people supporting the argument made by those publications probably don't feel the need to comment on the article.

That's how it's been since early internet days. Get one or two idiots from "the other side", then drag their idiotic husk over to "your camp" and then circlejerk about how idiotic they are.

Earlier events include Flat Earthers, Anti-vaxxers, and people strongly advocating for HAES/fat acceptance. There's more people who lambast them (and rightfully so) than actually espouse to those ideas, but distractful outrage is what generates clicks and page views. "the people" don't wanna hear about Armenian war. Go angrily comment on those articles.

You wouldn't of clicked or looked up articles that praised his performance.

These are the kind of people who think everyone should have to listen to their idiotic opinions. They would absolutely be commenting on the articles.
