Still use a 360 one, and it gets the job done.

I say yes. Its plug and play; works well, its comfortable, and they're pretty decent quality.

Check to see if the model you are looking at suffers from frequent drifting. You don't want to drop $100 on a new controller, only to have to take it back after two months.

I have both but don't mind using the 360 one at all for my PC, it's a tough question. I bought one of those Elite Xbox One controllers too and still just default to my 360 wired one for PC.

Feel one.

I like the bumpers on 360 better but I play CoD (gunfight and blackout) and 2k on Xbox so I'm used to the xbone controller.

I've never really seen the point of getting controllers that you don't have the system for

Xbox controllers basically double as PC controllers at this point.

It might be worth waiting for the Series X controller if you've waited this long. It has an extra button that I'm sure Steam will make use for lol. But yeah Xbox One controller is good.

They are bluetooth

So you can pair it with whatever bt adapter instead on the proprietary receiver

i'd personally wait for the series x controller and see if it's worth the upgrade.

it has some alleged improvements.

i do think the switch pro controller is better than the x1 as well (i feel it's size is better and it's at a really good weight, plus great battery life, and no stupid fucking batteries, though my x1 on my pc is always usb connected so that bit doesn't matter beyond principle). It can be a little tricky to use on PC, steam does make it easier but it's not as flawless as X1 tends to be.

  1. Buy a TV made in the last two decades with an HDMI port
  2. Take HDMI cable and connect it to GPU and the other end to the TV
  3. Buy some cheap pos wireless mouse and keyboard so your legs don't have to support your 300+ lb body weight while you stand in front of your tv for a few seconds to log in
  4. Launch game and use wireless controller of your choice
  5. Wow couch gaming problem solved. This genius here worked up a solution on day 0 of his first computer build

Good for you; I'm happy for you. Are you under the assumption everyone has those luxuries? If you are, I want you to REALLY try to understand this: Not everyone does, and not everyone has the money for that.

Post 14 but I vaguely remember the poster whining about something and blocking me, and the "PC can't couch game" argument isn't exactly new so I didn't really feel the need to quote it

Well if you're the type to ever bring up couch gaming I'd think sitting a PC next to a TV isn't a huge hurdle to overcome

I did couch gaming years ago. I sat a PC near my tv. whoopdedoo

In fact 2 TV stands and 2 moves later, I still had to come up with an extremely complicated plan to figure out where to place the old now barely functioning PC, and finally came up with this exotic solution after factoring in all of these new variables wow

The biggest obstacle for this are girlfriends and wives who do not want a giant PC that possibly has lights in the living room heh.

There are in-home streaming solutions. Only downside is a little bit of picture quality loss over stream.

Might as well do this since it's only like a month away. Personally, I strongly prefer the 1 controller over the 360.
