I go to order mexican. Twenty minutes later it tells me my order is cancelled cuz the place is closed. I get my refund. Cool.

I reorder again from a different place. It comes and it's the wrong fucking order. I get a refund again but I wish there was an option to call the idiot and tell him he gave me the wrong order. Idk if I eat the wrong order or hope he comes back.

I'd say a solid 80% of the time something about it was fucked up. I don't see a reason to pay a premium to have your order entirely fucked up.

I just don't get why there isn't a way to contact the driver and be like "Hey can you come back and give me my order". Cuz now whoever is getting my order is probably mad as fuck too when I could've saved us both the trouble. And it sucks because it looks like they only refunded me for the food. Not the tax or service, or my fucking tip.

I still see the delivery food sphere largely reserved for pizza. Delivery drivers there have their literal job devoted to the one pizza restaurant and their tips/reputation. Otherwise, you gotta drive your ass over yourself to the restaurant.

Just a little fun fact. Sometimes, even more often than not, its not the restaurant or the driver's fault you're getting the wrong food. Grubhub and similar services frequently have either outdated menus or it sends the wrong item when you order something and they do a real shit job at fixing it through their app and will usually just refund the guest and sometimes chargeback the restaurant. My parents have had to deal with this shit for a long time with their business. Grubhub is the absolute worst out of all of them though.

Yeah, I tried ordering from Grubhub and services like that a number of times a while back. The number of times my order was either entirely wrong or had items missing was ridiculous.

I am honestly shocked how many people use these food delivery services. For those prices, I'd much better off just picking up the meal myself. I've never found myself in a situation where I can't take the 10-20 minutes to go out and bring food home than pay extra to have someone deliver it.

When I first heard about these apps I thought they would fail for sure but surprisingly they have a huge following. Are people just that busy all the time or is it just laziness of not wanting to drive?

Sometimes when Im busy I prefer delivery. I just wait until deals are out. Since I have a premiere credit card I get DoorDash+ and GrubHub+ for free so they sometimes send me good discounts.

Today a beerpub had 30% off. I chose the pickup option so Im saving hella money....

Now that I write this....Im hoping GrubHub covers the 30% off and doesnt force the restaurant to take that hit

They all suck.

I ordered Chipotle off Doordash a few weeks ago. I got a burrito, wife got a bowl and we got a large chips & queso to share.

The driver arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule (basically the only positive) and when we open the bag, the chips & queso are missing... despite the receipt stuck to the bag clearly showing we ordered them and us being charged for it. The burrito was also the smallest I've ever gotten from Chipotle and mainly rice with hardly anything else.

Doordash refunded the cost of the chips & queso (even though it wasn't really their fault) and Chipotle said they can't do anything because I ordered through a third party. Needless to say, I won't be using them again anytime soon.

That sounds like it was 100% chipotles fault. And I have noticed when ordering delivery through Chipotle they are SUPPPPPER stingy with everything. Probably because you arent mean mugging the teenager making the food so they arent afraid to skimp out

Oh no, I 100% blame Chipotle. I just always have this kind of issue when I order through one of these apps, so even though it's not really their fault, I'd rather just go pick it up.

Well for starters they have a tablet instead of integrating into our online ordering like doordash.

So I have to manually input the order which wastes my time compared to Doordarshan or standard online orders. Also the tablet will keep having a full screen notification pop up for a few seconds every 30 seconds or so and prevent me form reading the order to actually finish inputting it.

When I hit a time it doesn't actually use it. If I hit "ready for driver in 20 mins" it will say 8 minutes or something.

Drivers tend to be extremely late or extremely early. I have had many times where a driver never showed up or came after a couple hours. Also had several cases of stolen orders or other such fuckery.

There is no option to tip me. The driver gets tipped but its not even an option to do so it seems. Its irritating having this shit give me extra work without any extra reward. Carryout was already up heavily before we started doing delivery too. Lots of rude drivers

Customer service is ass. Waits, lots of people with thick accents I can reading barely understand reading scripts and phone tag.

My policy is just to not even call them anymore. I just sub in the closest thing to whatever we can't do and tell the driver about it. We run a skeleton crew now. I am the only one on phone/register/carryout. I cannot spend 10+mins to ask a customer service representative to ask the guest what they want instead of the side we ran out of.

If its a big issue(I.E a whole meal we cannot do) I just cancel the whole order immediately.

Grubhub is garbage and I won't let its garbage drag an entire rush down with it. I refuse to lose out on tips, get yelled at and drive my stress through the roof for it.
