-You can get paid for sitting around
-People with autoimmune diseases are having an especially hard time with covid
-Most can't go out at all, or even have anyone physically nearby
-Less people donating cause pandemic
-Less plasma available cause it's being trials to deal with covid
-shit's fucked

I am ashamed to only have considered this recently.

Here is a cute anime waifu who explains in more detail

You get the blood cells back, it takes a lot longer, you can do it more frequently, and there are more situations in which you get paid.

Plasma, at least. Blood donation is usually just juice and pastries.

Thanks for helping, @AbstraktProfSC2 . I only recently started to care at an acceptable level, but I'm grateful all the same.

I remember i tried to donate platelets or plasma once after just regularly donating just regular blood...
When it was time for the blood to go back in my body, my arm swelled up at the needle area and i felt some not really pain but some pressure also. They stopped it when it was obvious it wasnt going in right. And my arm had a huge bruise for like a weak.

Never tried anything again where i get stuff back in my veins.

That's weird and I can't begin to consider why that would happen, but it's something for me to consider. It'll be a first for me too.

I always wanted to donate blood, since I'm type O and from what I hear that's the type they need the most. Unfortunately my epilepsy prevents that. Apparently people with epilepsy can have adverse effects from donating blood. Also I think you can't donate while on anti-epileptic medications. I assume donating plasma would have similar restrictions :<

The thought is appreciated, sucks about the epilepsy restriction. Tell someone you know that they should bleed for humanity.

That's weird, unless you're O- , O+ is one of the most common types in America.

Yeah, I believe it is one of, if not the most common type. The problem is that it's the best type to give, but worst to have. You can give O to almost anyone, but you can only receive O, so that means that while people with the other blood types can be receiving both their type and O, you can only get it from other O's, so supply drains faster.

I might just show up in person, at this rate. Korean businesses are weird, at least around here. They really don't want to answer the phone.

Oh, but that doesn't go for food. Fun story: My mom asked a Korean food delivery place for, along with a standard order including bbq and kimchi, milk. The lady paused, then offered to have the delivery man pick it up from a nearby 7/11. Now that's some damn good customer service.

I donated plasma once in the Army. I had gone in to donate blood and they wanted my plasma because I'm AB+ which apparently is the universal taker for whole blood but the universal donor for plasma.

I did not know that. I don't remember my blood type, but I hope they can tell me.
