I would be less inspired to re-watch Naruto over Bleach

Honestly I consider the 4 main Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games as the best way to experience that storyline

It suffers from the same problems Bleach does - Start off super strong, then start to fall apart
Also suffers heavily from fillers

But it stays strong longer than Bleach. A lot longer
The original series is almost filler free - it only has like 10 filler episodes in 140 episodes so this is fine
Then there is a long batch of fillers right before the final episode and they can be skipped

Shippuden is more of a mess, and I gave up watching it somewhere. Moved to the manga. It has far more fillers

Anyway - I can recommend it more than Bleach. But it's far longer too. Like almost double the amount of episodes? so that's a problem

I don't really care much about boruto himself but boruto's Dad is super cool and I hope he gets his own series one day

IIRC the original series has 220 episodes, where the final like 85 are filler, commonly known as filler hell. There might be a little bit before that, but the first ~135 episodes are really good. The filler hell is pretty easy to skip, I think if you just watch the last episode, which might have some canon stuff in it, you're good.

Shippuden is a lot more hit or miss than that. The best parts are fantastic, but the worst are terrible. That's not counting filler.

Think it's better to read it.

That is correct, they just stuck a ton of filler in right before the timeskip, then finished it off with a single episode that got back to the canon.

I dropped it after about 70 episodes, but I enjoy the manga quite a lot

the anime is currently 56% filler and when I dropped it had only covered a single arc from the manga (which wasn't even at the beginning. The actual beginning of Boruto is the movie that came before the anime.)

If you skip the filler and dont watch any of Shippuden its solid. It takes a shit all over itself and becomes terrible otherwise

I will say I did enjoy how much they expanded the lore in Shippuden, plus the Akatsuki are cool.

Well
It has 500 episodes
205 of them are pure filler
And from those 295 I would say Shippuden turns to shit at about the halfway mark...maybe even before..so..
You are going to enjoy 150 episodes out of 500, sounds like a bad deal to me!

(Unless you are willing to skip fillers)

Naruto is not good

I enjoyed it watching it with my lil bro back in 06 when the dub got played, but I tried rewatching it on netflix and its just....not ...good. Yea, like I said

there are still "moments" that make it alright. You stick around to watch those moments. everything surrounding those moments are dumb

Having watched every single episode of the first series, I'd take Shippuden any day. Although I never did finish it but plan to eventually.

Part I, up until about episode 135 or 136, is. I pretend that Shippuden doesn't exist.

I read the manga. Less time sunk, no filler episodes. It's fine as a shonen, with some cool battles. Characters aren't the strongest. I like the humor, and the author's anecdotes.

To me, Naruto died when (Major, but super major spoilers ahead) they killed off Kakashi and destroyed Konoha, killing almost everyone in it...and then wished it back like it's Dragon Ball
It takes a lot of courage to do what Kishi did - kill a fan favorite character and destroy the hometown of the hero? wow
And then...reverse back on all that
There was also the whole "Itachi was not the bad guy" twist that was super lame and dumb, but I don't remember if it was before or after the Pain saga

The general opinions about everything involving Pain or Itachi are pretty polarizing, up until that it's good and has of the series best battles. I think most agree it was a big mess after that despite perhaps a very few chapters/episodes.
