But science isnt faith. They say what is what and explain how they got there. If it makes sense, Ill buy it.

But if something contradicts it, Ill be willing to dismiss previous info.

But the Bible? Its not written by one guy. Its a collection of stories and gospels. So the odds of everyone being recorded accurately is low. Its been translated numerous times. People already complain when fucking anime is dubbed in English because meaning is lost.

And worst of all, God is depicted as a conceited asshole in said Bible. The concept of mercy and forgiveness completely flies out the window when eternal damnation is even a thing. The idea that humans are sinful because Eve ate a fruit but God can just go drinking with Satan and get goaded into fucking up the life of a devout follower is nuts. Whether he reversed it or not.

Humans honestly think if there was a God, theyd be the favored ones?Of the plethora of creatures... The weakest, most self destructive species? Why? Completely egotistical.

That post was kind of rude, but people in this thread kind of deserve to see it, and feel it. Both science and God are both real, but I've never seen believers of God treat people like absolute trash for going "... Hey, wait a minute here... This is a strange world we live in." that's not to disrespect the science, I couldn't say what I am to you without it, but to ignore that science is suspect and completely deny God? Those folks haven't thought it through very well in my opinion or they hate God.

But yeah, not trying to be disrespectful. I'm glad we can have these discussions and be civil. No side is dumb, both sides make sense. Thanks for the honest post.

I had no clue they did that stuff, that's not how you're supposed to evangelize... I guess it's just this forum, like someone said, lots of science majors here.

You shouldn't doubt science, it works, but you should acknowledge that religion/faith also works as well. It's like my friend said, you should drink from both wells.

A) That form of evangelizing isn't new, we had the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition centuries ago when people dared question
B) In what way are you saying Christianity "works"? As in uplifts people? Sure. But I haven't seen it duplicate results (or even provide ANY results) based on hypothesis
