Especially with the hours some of these companies have people work.

Granted, nowadays having an employee compound has all kinds of legal risks that it never did before.

Why do companies have games rooms? Things companies do aren't always intuitive. Some things they offer are to build morale, others are to provide perks to entice job seekers. In the case of companies in locations not located directly next to anything or where housing is expensive, there are certainly some advantages to offering housing; or there used to be, but nowadays it's a huge liability
