Condos are the same price if I move like 6 blocks over but I like that area significantly less. If I want a condo in my current area it will be like $3,500ish a month

Thats true...idk if I want to commit 3.5k a month to a condo, it may be a while before I pay it off and I want to get a house soon

then sell.
ownership is better cause each monthly payment is like an investment on the property. if you feel in the future that you need to move or upgrade to another complex, your current property always has the ability to go up in value.
your rent can always increase because of your landlord. your condo mortgage however will always be fixed.

My rent hasn't changed in the 7 years I've lived here, thats why its so cheap, im paying 50% of average for downtown of a large California metropolitan city

either way, if you're putting 2500 a month for rent, that means you're pretty well off that you should consider buying.

yeah ill take another look at condos in the area...but 2500 is a lot easier to swallow than 3500

i was never against the idea, the hard part is to find a house in the downtown area of my city that's actually nice...there's very few and even fewer nice ones

looking at it, if i can find a good one i'll just get a condo. don't have to deal with having a yard then
