I've seen the sample ballot for my area and all the other ones suck too. There's literally not a single reason for me to go out there to vote and risk getting the virus.

Agreed. And w/ all the early and mail in voting, people have ample opportunity to research before filling in their ballots.

That said, I *tried* to become informed of all the local elections on my ballot and outright couldn't find info on several of the candidates (or there was a ballotopedia entry w/ almost nothing besides their name), and there were other races w/ no one else running at all, so it really was pointless.
I was especially disheartened that all of the judges up for election were running unopposed. There's a bunch of civil rights issues I'd like to determine my choice based off of, that ended up not mattering b/c there literally was no other option.
And this is in 2020, a presidential election AND a census year, one of the largest elections in our lifetime that was obviously going to be high voter turnout. If the other side can't be bothered to field a candidate this year, what fucking hope is there for other years?
