So you dont have to deal with the bullshit from a repairman

its probably just a Union or packing but that needs to be tightened, at worst you might need a new gasket or pipe tape somewhere and those cost literally pennies

shit even if it was a bad valve you can replace that yourself for a couple bucks, depending on how much you dont want to deal with the free repairman wasting your time

My landlord does the same. Yet I'm able to go out, buy a new faucet and replace the old one. I send my landlord the bill for the faucet. He's happy that he doesn't have to pay extra for incompetent idiots and I'm happy that I don't have to suffer them.

It could just be a rubber gasket. They sell them at Home Depot for like a few dollars and you just need a Phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

And in this case you would've paid someone for screwing you. As someone that isn't handy at all it has become easy as hell to do things yourself due to the internet and it'll usually cost you 75% less.

Ok, I get that, but the skills needed to repair a sink are so basic, I just figured they are things learned in 101 type courses that every engineer would have taken, irregardless of specialty.

Good luck with that. Plenty of people get screwed by "professional" repairmen all the time. It's adorable how someone that prides themselves on intelligence is so willing to bend over and take it.
