I liked it a lot, but the 2nd half of the game felt really rushed or half-baked. The Shinobu levels are kinda janky, you only play as Henry for literally a 3 minute bossfight, and some of the levels are just non-stop enemy gauntlets. Like fighting in that parking lot level, I must've spent over 10 minutes killing 100+ guys before I finally moved on from that one area.

The no overworld and no entry fee is a God-send in this game, but I wish there was more side stuff to do >_> The assassination missions are way too short and generic, and the sidejobs are fun but barely give you enough money. And that big-titty Dr. Naomi only has 2 things to buy and then you never have a reason to see her again after the first 2 hours of the game. The story is still really funny but it kinda does go over the top a bit at times, like when Travis got a literal mech >_>

Overall I did like this game a lot but 1st one was better in more ways imo. Maybe if the 2nd half of this game wasn't so janky, I would've liked it more. idk if I should try to beat the game on Bitter or move on to Travis Strikes Back. Is that one any good?

Yeah, NHM2 overall felt less fresh than the first one, and my issue was also how it started taking itself more seriously in its story, as opposed to the first game that remained tongue-in-cheek throughout.

Another thing was how the game touted having more fights by Travis having to work his way up from Rank 50 to Rank 1 (as opposed to 10 to 1 in the first game), but most of those fights are skipped; all of the cheerleaders with the football player count as assassins 49-26; there's a battle royale that you're supposed to take part in, but by the time you get there, only one participant is left; and Henry off-screens three more Assassins for you. Felt like a ripoff.

There is more boss fights at least (15 here, compared to 10 in the 1st game), but yeah lol @ how they just skip a bunch. Apparently Henry was supposed to be playable more and those 3 he killed were gonna be his levels, but they had to scrap it.

This what happens when Suda51 doesnt write and direct. Glad he came back for Travis Strikes Again and No More Heroes 3.

I don't remember much of NMH2, I just remember thinking "this might not be literal shit, but why am I not just replaying the first one?" all the way through.

Eh the serious parts are pretty short and don't get in the way too much, so I don't mind them >_> There's still some hilarious scenes like Travis jacking off while Henry wakes up, or Shinobu screaming MOE even tho she doesn't know what it means lol

I used to like 2 better for the upgraded graphics and the cool minigames but 1 has better boss fights. Travis Strikes Again is good for more story, but is nothing like the gameplay in 1&2. Its a top down view game where you equip unique skills that work on a cooldown. It takes itself more serious but without sacrificing the nmh sillyness. I definitely recommend it if you really like Suda51 games and style.

I remember thinking the level was glitched it was so ridiculous. I'm assuming it was supposed to get you to think about just how many guys Travis savagely murders, but it's WAY too long.

But yeah, I agree. The first half of 2 is pretty great, and then it kinda spirals down the drain shortly after that samurai fight.

Travis Strikes Again is alright. Probably plays a little better than the other two games imo, but the presentation and writing isn't nearly as satisfying.

Fair, lol. Was also either expecting the biker duel or Jasper Batt phase 2.

Yeah Jasper phase 2 took a long time. I mustve died like 4 times to him. Not looking forward to fighting him on Bitter

Jasper Batt Jr. 2 is the most frustrating boss in the series.

1 had better and more memorable boss fights but it was a huge improvement in 2 taking out the overworld and paying for missions. I recall the minigames being better too, at least the steak one.
