My Grandmother died in September. My mother just lost both of her parents. After losing her first-born daughter(my big sister/best friend) in 2017, my father in 2010, and a baby boy(my little bro) when he was a baby.

But losing both parents back to back must be hard. Especially with no siblings, partner, and all of your old friends dead. I'm just trying to be here for her best I can.

My Grandpa was a good man, a veteran, and will be missed.

My deepest condolences and I hope you both can find peace with this in time. I've experienced similar, I understand what you are going through, and i'm not really what I can say except let time help you heal and be there for each other whenever you can.

Thank you all.

Both my grandparents had dementia, but were doing fine. However, with covid-19 going on and lockdowns going on, their health seemed to quickly deteriorate. They rapidly went downhill and spent most of summer/autumn in and out of the hospital.

They couldn't remember they were sick in the end, and my grandfather kept saying he didn't know what was going on but he knew he wasn't right. He kept saying that.

They aren't suffering anymore, and that's about the only comfort I can take from this.

Sorry to hear.

Trials in life. You and your mom have made it through so many. It's a burden but also remarks what kind of will you two have.

How old?
I lost a grandad at sixty-something, then the other at eighty-something. That first one stung more.

I learned to identify rocks by taste by that first-dead grandad.

Dang, sixty something is young, considering a lot of people make it to their eighties like your other grandad. Sorry about that loss. I had an old person explain to me once that getting really old sucked mainly because youre still basically the young you in your mind but your body doesnt agree and wont cooperate. I still think about that.

Never heard of being able to identify rocks by taste. I think goats can do that. Cool either way.
