In 1986 she lost to a man who at one time managed the "worst managed city in america", Marion Barry.

When D.C. Mayor Marion Barry didn't seek re-election in 1990 because he was in jail for 6 months on a drug charge, D.C. elected democrat Sharon Kelly(not against Schwartz). In the very next election, Schwartz returns to the ring to lose to...Marion Barry. Again. Barry, fighting under the slogan of "not perfect but perfect for D.C." Motherfucker was in jail six months on a drug charge and 90s D.C. said "cool"

Poor Schwartz though. In case you're wondering D.C. went 90% or so for Biden this year.

Ms. Schwartz might want to self-reflect a bit and consider how or why she continues to lose.

DC as a city is decidedly blue, yes. It's more than a substantial part of why Trump was booed at that ball game.

Still better than the mayors who go to jail for corruption and then get re-elected mayor. I'm looking at you, Joe Ganim!

Fun fact: Joe Ganim was the *only* Democrat to run against Ned Lamont in CT's gubernatorial primary... despite the fact that Ned Lamont had lost multiple high profile races, including -- most notably -- winning the Democratic primary for the senate which took the nomination from the incumbent (Joe Lieberman -- if the name sounds familiar, it's because he run on Gore's ticket in 2000) who turned around, ran as an independent, and got re-elected.

As for Joe Ganim, just this year he was subject to ANOTHER federal corruption probe and spent over $500k of Bridgeport's money on lawyers, etc, to handle it.
