Boom! That's right, this is all happening! You cannot change the channel now!
In recognition of your overwhelming victory, let's call it a draw.

It sort of depends on if I liked their stuff before they came out as shit birds. Michael Jackson was always the king of pop. He was weird but you could recognize his skill. Roman Polanski, I have never seen one of his movies, by all measures I hear I should love it, but refuse to watch any of his movies.

Tom Cruise is a particularly interesting one. I think he is weird as fuck and I don't want to support him, but I can't help but enjoy many of his movies.

I can do it with R Kelly or Michael Jackson because their moral character isn't necessarily linked to the product. Not that I'm a huge fan of either.

I can't do it with Bill Cosby because his whole act and characters reek of arrogance looking backwards in context and I can't take him seriously. I was a big Bill Cosby fan growing up.

Also I find it much easier to look past film actors shitty behaviour. They're really such a small part of the production in the grand scheme of things

Benoit

the guy who killed his family in a murder suicide? I guess if you consider that he became severely mentally ill after his popular years but I don't really know much about the situation.

Harvey Weinstein movies are another example. He was a monster but he wasn't in the product.

Yeah, although I don't always do it. I pretty much wrote off Frank Miller during that... phase.

Sometimes yes.

Other times no. I'm never gonna watch something with Mel Gibson or Kevin Hart (not that Kevin hart is talented anyway)

Yeah mostly this

its hard for me to give up, say, Brand New

but i avoid metal bands with Nazi connections like MGLA because theres enough good music out there that I dont need to start with bands like that

Yeah, I mean that's literally discrediting the work of thousands of people because the guy who secured financing was a shitbag

He was really physically ill probaby 10 or so years ago, wrote Holy Terror which is really racist and turned into a right-wing spaz on social media. He's since claimed that it was the illness and resultant stress affecting his judgement, but... meh. Whatever.

Generally separating art from the artist means that I still enjoy things that they made in the past, but I don't support future projects from them, etc.

There are occasionally situations where the offenses are egregious enough or contradictory enough to their persona that I can't even do that though tbh.

Im pretty big into rap so I kind of have to.

That said I also went through my Warped Tour phase and stopped listening to a lot of artists who turned out to be abusers or pedos which was way too common in the 2010s.

At least with rap a lot of them are gang members first and musicians second so crime is kind of expected. Not so much for mallcore.
