I'm not hating the game or anything but there's almost never any clarity what you should do. Even when I look up what to do online I don't understand how anyone would have deciphered that without just randomly stumbling across it.

wow... i'm actually playing it right now for the first time.
i've tried a few times before but never really put in any real effort because it just felt very obtuse and i remember hating the control scheme. i'm going through it with a guide now and goddamn some of these leaps of logic have been pretty bad xd --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Probably being young and having the patience to look over everything 10 times. But as an adult, I'm good on that. I give it 10-15 minutes and run to a guide. If the guide can't help, I'm over it.
