Much of his base actually likes his bravado. Being humble would hurt him among the people that like him and it wouldn't be enough to flip people that don't like him for his many other character flaws.

The reason Trump won in 2016 was being incredibly outlandish and he knew what buttons to push to get the right wing riled up as hell. So no.
