I think he is like Nixon and believes he can use the power of the presidency to stay in office. I also suspect he actually believes stuff like he deserves a third term for not getting all his stuff done despite having control of all 3 branches of government for his first 2 years in office.

He is never going to concede, I don't think he will ever admit to losing. I find his jamming in very unqualified people into the department of defense with 2 months to go disturbing but I think he will just leave office continuing to claim he won.

I think the big question is if he will sabotage efforts to keep the GA seats when more republican politicians keep siding with reality.

A concession is not necessary, it just is done as a courtesy. It's not like the Government will shrug and go "Well I guess Trump is president until he concedes to Biden."

I had had a thought about this. I'd read on Reddit someone saying how Trump's getting the full 2020 experience between catching Covid, losing his job, and facing an eviction. How insane would it be if 2020 decided to throw locusts or death hornets, or both, at Mar-a-lago at this point? Unlikely, sure, but that doesn't change the question.

Trump's not stupid and he has some good lawyers on his side. No doubt he not only sees a way he can win but is trying for it. I suspect that he's going to try and get enough doubt cast on the election results to try and push it to a house delegation where he'd likely win. It's... a very long shot but technically possible.

It's not necessary but it is holding up the transition process so Biden will be starting off at a disadvantage compared to most presidents, which Trump and his base will blame on Biden's capabilities and not Trump's refusal to cooperate.

Trump is also damaging millions of people's faith in a functioning and honest democracy with each passing day solely to preserve his own image. Although that's hardly surprising. He has never cared about the damage he leaves in his wake.

Trump is a classic example of a guy who has OD'd on White Male Privilege. He really thinks he won the election and he's telling anyone who'll listen him. Trump is like a wounded animal who has been backed into a corner. He'll go down fighting to the death because in his warped mind, he actually thinks he's going to have a second term.

Trump has only himself to blame because at the end of the day, people simply got fed up with his lies and the firings, the disregard for Covid, his stoking the fire of racial injustice and the economy so he can only blame himself.

I guess we'll have co-presidents with him and Biden sharing the honors.

Fortunately no matter what happens with any of his baseless legal bullshit and no matter what his supporters cry about, the states will eventually vote in Biden in the electoral college according to their vote count and on January 21, he will be removed from office one way or another. The only question is how much more division he's going to create before that.

Not at the time you posted this. His lawsuits are nonsense his lawyers keep having to tell the truth that there is no fraud or that there were watchers present if they don't want to get disbarred for violating their oath and lying. What lawsuits he specifically has filed particular votes rather than vague unsubstantiated claims are for inconsequential small amounts of votes like 30 in GA or 500 in PA.

Even if every outstanding case gets ruled in Trumps favor, and theres no reason to think that ANY of them will, he still lost. Even if the recounts somehow show the widest error in the history of US elections in Trumps favor, he STILL lost.

The margin is simply too large in Bidens favor. Trump has no path to victory even through the courts. Because he fucking lost so badly.

Every single one of his lawyers is getting in front of judges and making absolute fools of themselves because they have zero evidence to present.

I mean how incompetent are republicans if they really think that millions upon millions of people voted illegally and miscounted ballots in ways that are very difficult and easily caught, yet they cant seem to find a shred of evidence.

Fucking hell the governor of Texas is offering a million bucks to anyone in the state that can provide actual evidence of shady shit surrounding the election, and strangely enough nobody seems to want to step forward and claim a bunch of easy money

Trump Floats Improbable Survival Scenarios as He Ponders His Future: https://nyti.ms/32EuH4R

At a meeting on Wednesday at the White House, President Trump had something he wanted to discuss with his advisers, many of whom have told him his chances of succeeding at changing the results of the 2020 election are thin as a reed.

He then proceeded to press them on whether Republican legislatures could pick pro-Trump electors in a handful of key states and deliver him the electoral votes he needs to change the math and give him a second term, according to people briefed on the discussion.

It was not a detailed conversation, or really a serious one, the people briefed on it said. Nor was it reflective of any obsessive desire of Mr. Trumps to remain in the White House.

He knows its over, one adviser said. But instead of conceding, they said, he is floating one improbable scenario after another for staying in office while he contemplates his uncertain post-presidency future.

There is no grand strategy at play, according to interviews with a half-dozen advisers and people close to the president. Mr. Trump is simply trying to survive from one news cycle to the next, seeing how far he can push his case against his defeat and ensure the continued support of his Republican base.

That's the worst part. He has acknowledged in private that he lost, yet is still trying to find ways to alter the outcome, which is entirely undemocratic and unacceptable in any way, shape, or form from the president of the united states, and he also clearly does not care how much he damages faith in our system and the idea of a functioning democracy. He is 100% focused on himself and his image with no regard for the damage it causes. He is such a piece of shit.

It makes sense to exclude votes beyond the Nov 3 date, on one hand, but the official vote is unaffected and remains blue for the whole of PA, which the link does state. So I am not seeing counted ballots being overturned so much as newer ones turned away.

The actual content of the case doesn't matter; all his supporters hear is that one of the dozens of cases he's starting has not been categorically dismissed and they take that as evidence that there is widespread voter fraud. Even though this case does not in any way suggest fraud, widespread or otherwise. But the koolaid is strong this year.

Another law firm bails out on Trump campaign: https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/13/law-firm-drops-trump-campaign-436418

Another law firm has moved to drop its representation of President Donald Trumps campaign in its flurry of lawsuits challenging the results of last weeks presidential election.
Late Thursday night, Columbus-based firm Porter Wright Morris & Arthur notified a federal judge hearing a Trump-filed suit over the election tallies in Pennsylvania that the firm is seeking to pull out of the case.

Plaintiffs and Porter Wright have reached a mutual agreement that Plaintiffs will be best served if Porter Wright withdraws, and current co-counsel and such other counsel as Plaintiffs may choose to engage represent Plaintiffs in this case, the filing said.
It is highly unusual for a major law firm to seek to withdraw its representation of a client in litigation so soon after it commenced. The suit in question, before U.S. District Court Judge Michael Brann in Williamsport, Pa., was filed just four days ago.

Trump's campaign, meanwhile, lashed out at the law firm for backing out.
Cancel Culture has finally reached the courtroom," said Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh in a statement. "Leftist mobs descended upon some of the lawyers representing the Presidents campaign and they buckled." He added, "The Presidents team is undeterred and will move forward with rock-solid attorneys to ensure free and fair elections for all Americans.

Last week, another law firm representing the Trump campaign in similar litigation Arizona-based Snell & Wilmer moved to withdraw from an election-related lawsuit over results there. A judge granted the firms request on Tuesday.

I think Mr. Trump's best option for remaining President is to declare certain states, that he lost in, as no longer a part of the USA. Making the states left enough to win the electoral college. I bet kicking out NY and the New England states, and removing their votes, would do that. Those states can be a new country or join Canada for that free health care.

Probably Not. I wouldn't expect that detail to stop someone like Mr. Trump from trying.
Of course the question might be asked "Did Lincoln really have the right to try to keep states from leaving the country?" I'm sure the south of the time felt they could leave if they wanted to and did try to leave, so if they were right, I suppose states could be removed as well.
Here is a link about what Lincoln was thinking.
