Yea. I think babies died way more often back then too. And kids. So that also lowered the average.

Cancer treatment, insulin and much better work safety/lower pollution I would presume are the other major life extenders.

Many people with cancer live or are bought an extra 5-10+ years nowadays.

depend on quality of life, is that really a good thing?

also, i think cancer cases are rising. i don't think cancer was as prevalent 120 years ago
