So I've played 0, 1K, 2K. I started 6 and got about halfway through it. Then 3-5 came out on PS4, so I put 6 on hold started dabbling in 3 for a couple of hours, then kinda just put it on hold too >_>
Now that was like a year ago and I don't remember shit from 3 lol. I kinda remember 6, but I'll probably just read a synopsis up to where I left off. But basically I really want to play Yakuza 7 cuz it's brand new and turnbased. Should I just resume 3 or 6 or should I just jump into 7? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Is Yakuza one single narrative from Yakuza 1 to now?Yeah, 0-6 is a chronological journey of Kiryu and they're sorta standalone stories from what I've seen, but they definitely reference past events and characters from previous games. I think 7 takes places after 6, but it has a brand new protag. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think you'll be fine to jump into it. I also kinda got burnt out by the time I got to 4 and never finished but the new RPG gameplay makes it feel fresh and the story is easy to follow and nothing (that I've encountered yet, at least) will really spoil the previous game's stories.

It's dicey trying to get around spoilers in this series.
I can say that each game's story at least tries to be its own thing. For example, the villains from Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 are never mentioned again after those games' events. They're really only covered in broad strokes. It's the problem when you've got such a huge series with a lot of the same characters. For myself, I haven't finished Y7, so I can't say for sure how essential it is to play previous games. --- CyricZ ... Copied to Clipboard!
