I finished Odyssey earlier this year. It was a fun game, but doing everything burned me out so hard that I dont think I could do another similar adventure.

Where the fuck are you in life where playing something as meaningless as video games is burning you out?

Is Odyssey just another open world Ubisoft game where you're presented with a map filled with shit tons of collectibles?

Yes for like 30 minutes then I got bored and never played it again. I'm not going to slog through a game I don't enjoy.

I heard they doubled down on all the non-assassin things -- MORE boat combat! MORE 10 v 1 melee fights! MORE towers!

Valhalla is actually fun at launch like Origins was, it is not a slog or some lame bullshit that plagued Odyssey at launch, they thankfully did away with "enemy level scaling" and you have plenty of options for how you want the game to be.

I dropped Odyssey after 2 days at launch which I have never done with an AC game, only 1 year later was the game good enough to play after all the needed updates/patches fixed the garbage people hated.

Valhalla is a great game at launch and will only get better, if you had issues with Odyssey then rest assured this is NOT that fuckery, Valhalla is more like Origins where the game knows people want options.
