i have to fly for thanksgiving but not looking forward to it.

Only Issue is if they lockdown travel again, you get stuck.

I know people that gone to Cuba-PuertoRico and returned fine

In October. Just wear masks-Gloves even, you know to be sure.

I just flew last weekend, they don't allow anyone in the middle seats, it was amazing. Fast boarding, fast unloading, best way to travel.

i was wondering about the middle seat thing. i hope they still do that when i fly on the 25th.

I've done it twice, didn't get sick. You're still allowed to take off your mask to eat and drink, so it's not too bad having to wear one

I flew in early october and it was great. masks are required (on delta at least) only removal allowed for active eating and drinking

I hope middle seats never come back

I did during the summer and the plane was packed and I put on an n95 mask, I would imagine it being terrible during the holidays.

I see planes without middle seats, where did you fly to and what airline? I could not imagine that happening in a busy flight.

It looks like a lot of airlines are promising their new Covid guidelines until January 6th 2021. Do you think its gonna be a free-for-all/shitshow after that?

i think it will if it doesn't get extended.
from what i heard. when the vaccine gets out. there will be 4 sets of people. some will have to wait turn to get the vaccine if they want it.

I just flew on American. Social distancing was encouraged but not enforced. Proper mask wear was enforced, you had to cover nose and mouth the whole flight unless eating or drinking. It was domestic flights. On the slightly longer one they gave out zip lock bags with a couple hand wipes, biscotti cookies and a small bottle of water. On the shorter one there was nothing. You might be able to ask for drinks and stuff but I didn't see anyone getting anything.

The flights were like 99% full, pretty sure the only empty seats were people who didn't show up.

Airports that I went to had hand sanitizer stations to use

I wouldn't voluntarily fly but I think American did a good job at least

alaska is enforcing no middle seat so i'm happy about that.

I wonder if flying first class is worth it just so youre not sitting around as many people. Same cabin but not crammed in as much.

For sure. It seems like during normal cold/flu season people got sick on planes because of the nasty ass magazines and tray tables. The atmosphere itself is pretty safe.

That was one thing I noticed on my one American flight, too - they didn't even have tray tables. It was kind of a weird thing I noticed halfway through.

To/from Vegas to/from MSP. Delta, early October. Middle seats all blocked. Both flights were extremely close to full otherwise. But none of the overbooked flight / gate checking bullshit anymore is also an underrated positive.

Yeah, I feel like theyll extend them. I think the first round was set to end in August or something and they extended them until January.

I feel this. I havent gone anywhere except for the grocery store or drive-thrus/curbside pickup since mid February. Not doing any holiday traveling this year either. Its a bummer but these are extraordinary times.
