The phrase goes "it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission" which is generally true. Obviously sometimes that mentality will get someone shot or arrested so common sense should apply.

Honestly as a person who is often giving permission, I wish my people were more of the forgiveness type. Sometimes it feels like they force me to micromanage them
