Be sure his new zombie movie he's making starring Dave Batista when it comes out. I think they said it's set in the same universe as DotD.

I really liked it, but it's not really comparable to Romero's first three. Looking forward to Army of the Dead.

Not really. It really shows Snyder's main weakness if you ask me. Snyder just wants to show the cool stuff right away. His goal is to make his movies nothing but awesome at all times. Dial it up to 10 in the first scene and stay there the whole movie.

Things like building tension or pacing the action are foreign to him. So the action scenes in his Dawn of the Dead are great, but it doesn't have that sense of dread and anxiety that the original had. Snyder's is fun but not very scary.

It's a different kind of movie to the original ones. It seems that you're putting those expectations on it, which is fair, but looking it it through an objective lens and not nostalgia goggles, the movie itself is just more entertaining and put together much better.
