It literally adds nothing to the game. Replace Egg Moves with TMs and fuck IVs. Thats the way.

get rid of breeding, get rid of IVs, turn EVs into generic points you can re-allocate whenever/wherever and make choosing/changing natures trivial

Its there to add depth and a lot of people enjoy it, if you are just playing around just go catch a wild Pokmon, in anything but competitive it wont matter at all.

to be fair, they sorta did that with Sword/Shield with Mints. Though I think they cost 50 BP each, BP isn't that hard to get if you have HOME and a lot of Pokemon in storage, and I've found some mints in the Crown Tundra area just laying around.

Most everything else mentioned in here makes sense though. I'd probably keep IVs just because I like that not every Pokemon of the same species is exactly the same.

Nope. With the new huge quality of life changes, breeding is pretty much perfect in this gen.

I mean honestly, I thought Sword and Shield already went quite a mile to make the competitive scene easier and make the rest of the game less grindy and based on luck.

But to be honest, they could just release the game with a "competitive only" mode where you just set up a dream team with key rules for any given tournament type that you might want to be in. Just make the party builder have a ton of sliders and options.

You could separate the player base among their chosen playstyles easiest that way. Shit, I'd buy a copy just because...I mean, Hell if they aren't even going to give the story any thought we might as well just stop pretending we want to breed and raise.
