It's pretty simple. I literally just did it. "It's is a contraction of "it is". "Its" is possessive. But thanks, now "it" looks weird to me.

I regard the apostrophe in "it's" as the separate tip of the letter "i". An almost invisible "i", if you will.

It's or its is simple as piss. I often type out the wrong "there/their" though if typing too fast and have to go back and correct myself, as like to think I remember which is which.

Mostly because I corrected someone once all high and mightily about which one they should use but I was absolutely wrong about it.

Easily. The only one that gives me difficulty sometimes (have to think about for a couple seconds) is 'to' and 'too'.
