What are the market factors causing this? Is it just that India is high population (English-speaking) and low wage?

I'm watching this "secret shopper" video by Linus Tech Tips where they talk to customer service to get recommended a PC build. You start to get Chinese Room vibes with how customer service goes through their script.

The reason it's cheap labour and because they're hired as companies in India it gets around things like pesky labour laws and taxes as it's bound to Indian law. A lot of these places have very poor workers. Think one week's less pay and you're starving along with your family so they're more open for abuse and working longer hours etc

Cheap labor. Companies don't want to pay the salaries in the states.

i don't base any serious decisions on his stuff or really watch closely. It's just very popcorn-able content to have on.

it also cuts down on the hiring company's costs
less hr, accountants, managers, etc all because you only need one person to supervise the supervisor of the other company

I heard that it's because their time zone matches up well with the West, they speak English and they work for dirt cheap.
