I mean I just flat out take it off my face when training anything legs related, so I begin to wonder what the purpose is, and the day they tell me I need to wear it while pulling 500 lbs off the ground is the day I walk out and find a new hobby till this shit ends.

Masks do not inhibit your ability to breathe. When you get that out of your head, it will be better. When I first started wearing them I thought this, until I realized I was inadvertently breathing heavier for the sole reason that the mask was on and I wasn't used to it. As a result, I was getting short of breath at times because I was unnecessarily breathing differently. When I got used to it, put it on, and breathed normal, it was exactly the same as not wearing one.

Part of my issue is I have this thick cloth mask. Its comfier for day to day, but it is definitely impacting my performance, especially on things where I am more gassed. (I cant even imagine dedicated cardio).

My gym is pretty lax, they allow you to lower it if you wanna catch your breath, or while actually lifting as long as you keep it on your head and up a lot of the time. Its still annoying fidgeting with it all the time though.

I will also add I wear glasses so when I brace/breathe properly generally I blind myself entirely. (I tested this today on a set of lat pulldowns and my entire glasses were fogged.)

Lifting weights isn't bad, but running isn't easy..

Really depends on your cardio level. If you run a lot every week and get your heart rate going, it won't be as bad

I run usually once a week at a rate that pushes my heart to between 150-160 bpm for 30 minutes. Its not deathly bad but Im definitely panting and drenched in sweat. I do however play drums which is a lot of cardio work, and my leg days definitely help my conditioning (Especially squats).

My apartment complex gym doesnt require masks and I work out there in the morning (like 4-5 am) solo anyway. I actually have a yearlong 24 hour gym membership but havent gone since March.
