I stopped after the part where Ethan's hand gets cut off and running from the guy in the house.

This is not the Resident Evil I know! Lol it's very visceral and unsettles me. Not sure if I want to keep playing if that's what the game is.

There isn't too much body horror like that after that part. Except for maybe bee lady if you count her.

As someone who's played all of the RE games, I think it's a welcome addition to the catalogue. Is it the scariest? In VR, definitely. But on a regular screen, it gives me more REmake 2 vibes. They're the only games that have ever made me scream "Jesus-Fucking-Christ" at the top of my lungs.

TL;DR, stick with it. It's good.

A friend i had was a survival horror stan when we were younger. I had him play re7 and he couldn't handle playing it for longer than 20 minutes at a time.

Maybe re7 does more stuff that fans of the classics aren't used to idk what though

The beginning of the game is a lot more SH/Outlast inspired than it is typical RE. You start getting more guns and it becomes the more action/survival horror that RE usually is.

Okay thanks, good to hear that stuff isn't so prevalent later on. Yeah, it's like Outlast. I don't like games where I feel so defenseless, even as a fan of the horror genre.

RE7 was straight garbage. It has nothing to do with RE. It felt more like a Silent Hill game towards the end. I would recommend playing it once, then never touch it again.

A lot of people hate good things and opinions exist. Take this person's post with a grain of salt.

Some people just don't understand that change is normal and they hang onto the past.

I loved RE7, I thought it was in incredible entry to the series.

I'm a fan of gore and body horror though so I enjoyed it.
