It's supposed to be a chase sequence where you're one step behind her but the guy playing the game is way too good and is constantly just catching up. As such the game repeatedly has to give Nora ludicrious Flashlike bursts of speed to put her in position for the next set piece.

It's funny

Only if it was a really boring wordy slasher game with a terrible story, terrible pacing and insane tonal shifts.

the only thing that I'll agree with was the pacing was a little off, but the story was tonally consistent and really good.

It follows very basic tropes and steals cool moments/ideas from other stories.

I guess if you have an absolutely baseline where you just want to see shit you've already seen 700 times before done again but worse it obliges.

And that's all most people want it would seem since the game sold like water in the desert.

Which sucks because that communicates to all other game devs not to try with their stories and just do effortlesss claptrap for easy money

and just because something might borrow from another work, whether it's a scene, its themes, cinematography, etc., it doesn't necessarily mean its a bad thing if, overall, it's its own thing.

like, for example, MGS3 borrowed stuff from 007 and a scene from The Fugitive, but it was still unmistakably Kojima's vision and a good game.

I agree.

But when your work is nothing but a string of tropes that were good in other works (because they were built up to in them) in a row without rhyme, reason, humanity, pacing, sense, emotion, meaning sometimes even context then it's a mess.

TOLU2 Plays an extremely boring sequence of the writers going "Here's things I thought were cool in other games/movies."

And if that's your thing then great, it's just a shame for the industry that such low low low low standards are being popularized.

I speak no Hyperbole when I say Spyro the Dragon had a more developed and consistent story. And that was for small children
