Wow. That fit perfectly in the title bar.

But yeah, growing up this was my favorite show. It was so creepy and odd and it scared the shit out of me. I should really buy the box set.

Those three, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Johnny Bravo, and Powerpuff Girls were my childhood.

Hell yeah I did. The episode where they're stuck on mars and they're eating Stimpy's cat turds to stay alive is a classic. Also had Hey Arnold! and Angry Beavers.

good show

had some creepy episodes that scared me back then

overall theme was hilarious. sweet old country lady living in the middle of nowhere and all kinds of bad shit happens to her she didn't deserve, rofl.

The old man pulling out the mask while saying ooga booga booga was funny too. never got old.

It's a great show, I love that it filled in a niche of scary content for kids. And was genuinely scary sometimes. There's like a kind of lovecraftian force that just attracts "all kinds of creepy things" to Courage's home and he just can't stop it but needs to protect his family who seem completely unaware of the dangers they live in, and he's the only one who realizes how dangerous things are. It's scary as a kid, it's like a nightmare.

It's an amazing blend of comedy and horror and the writing is genius.

The only thing that ever freaked me out a little bit as a kid was Freaky Fred and the Weremole probably more stuff should have.

This. Pretty much no one says the show sucks. On average it's probably one the most respected shows out there.

It had decent critical reception, but did not receove many awards. It was just a well regarded show that deserves more love.
Ed, Edd, n Eddy is probably the most underappreciated show per viewing popularity. It got HUGE numbers but did not hit the social consciousness outside of children.

I feel like it's more relevant how people feel about it now. Initial response matters, but so does the views on it with hindsight. When you get 20 years away and there's still nothing to compare it to, it usually sticks out even more. Like Earthbound.

That's fair. I just don't know many people anymore who talk about it. I still watch it.

Freaky Fred still scares the hell out of me. That one worked a little too well. And when Courage's computer goes haywire and starts taking over Muriel/Eustace. The scene where it turns the corner and starts climbing downstairs always stuck with me.
