The vast majority of things you put in the microwave will be improved by adding a small cup of water alongside them (or a small amount of water directly to them).

I don't know where I got this idea but adding a splash of milk to pasta before reheating works well

Usually I never use the whole jar of sauce and instead will keep some leftover in the fridge and will add some on there when reheating.

Alternatively, you can drape a wet paper towel over the plate and the same thing will happen. It's actually better and should be done when re-heating anything in the microwave.
