I think it's silly that people look down upon or mock those who utilize the block/ignore features appropriately. If you want to "manually" avoid posters yourself, more power to you. It's simple convenience to let the site do that for you, though, and nothing that should be looked down upon.

D. The ignore list is a useful time saver. There are a lot of accounts on this site and I can't be bothered to remembered who is a troll and who isn't. For example, just yesterday I was talking to some guy on another board and he kept responding to everyone who disagreed with him with "shut the fuck up". Not just me but like 5 other guys. What point is there in talking to someone like that? If I don't put him on ignore, I'd probably run across him again a few months from now and waste another 10 minutes conversing with him. But now I don't have to worry about that.

The people who say C are typically too stupid to realize 99% of people who use the ignore list don't use it over "differing opinions".

I have a very small list of people who I have blocked, but there's users like Lonestar who I don't remember ever speaking to that has me and like 100+ others on ignore. That I don't understand, someone who doesn't have me blocked but has a ton of users blocked, how many posts do you actually see per 40 on a page? I'd think you would just be completely out of the conversation if you are only seeing like a third of all the posts in a topic.

A lot of people on this website just aren't worth talking to in the slightest.

And from my experience, the overly sensitive people won't even add someone who bothers them to ignore. Just constantly bitch at them every time they post a topic. I've had plenty of people who KNOW I've ignored them spam my topics. I would have preferred they added me to ignore as I did to them if I make them so damn upset. At least now I can block them entirely. (Granted I don't make many topics anymore.)

nah, that's ridiculous. I don't use it anymore but the board is definitely enhanced by eliminating the white noise posters, shock value posters, problem causing posters, etc etc

I started ignoring and blocking for no other reason than the sheer number of interchangeable people with the same personality posting the same dumb shit day after day after day. I think I'm at like 100 people on my ignore list and from what I've observed, at least half of them could be the same exact person, even though I know they're not.

I have no desire to live in an echo-chamber. I love being challenged and improving where I can but that's not what I get out of leaving these people visible.

And I know, "who the fuck are you." I'm not some great poster but jesus, some of these people here are just... I don't even know.

the site implemented a feature to help those with weak willpower and they are still too dense to use it. they try to act as if they aren't bitching but putting people in their place. so delusional, makes trumpers look sensible in comparison.

I used to think that it ruined any chance at a real discussion, but then I realized it actually makes real discussion possible.

There are so many trolls and/or genuinely miserable, useless creatures on this site that have no redeeming qualities to justify the existence of their posts, so simply erasing them only enhances the GameFAQs experience.
