Probably the most fun game I've played this year is Uncharted 4, and this is the year I played God Of War, Devil May Cry 4, Ghost of Tsushima and Nier Automata.

Don't get me wrong. I loved all of those games. But Uncharted is the only game out of those that never had a moment of "oh for fuck's sake, I have to do all that AGAIN?" except all the climbing. way too much fucking climbing in that game

It kind of sucks but I'm ok with it too.

Climbing is the best part of Uncharted. Its like jumping in a Mario platformer.

Except in mario the entire skill and gameplay revolves around doing those jumps well but in uncharted it's impossible to lose except on like 3 occasions

It's basically a cutscene you control every time

I play significantly less games but I still go all out on the ones I do play, for the most part. Just cut out the types of games I only kinda like and focus on the ones I'm positive are my thing.

i am the same way, i game a lot less & can only tolerate casual rpgs and non-intense action/adventure games now. worst part is when you play or see a game that you acknowledge is really cool and you would have loved 10 years ago, but now its just not doing anything for you

Ive noticed my reaction time and precision has decreased slightly in things like shooters and rts/moba type games, as Ive gotten older, but I still like to play a variety of games. The time available to play them has definitely decreased but I still get in what I can.

You have to make time for gaming if you really love the hobby when you get older, its not like when your a child in school. Being an adult comes with responsibility and freedom but it is not easy.

I still make sure to have atleast 1 hour each day to game, most times 2 hours, and if I really get things done 3 hours. My off days are my big gaming days now and I also know now ti prioritize certain games over others.

MP is not important unless friends are on and want to play, single player is however the VIP.

I really don't have time to invest in long games. Even if I find a free afternoon, I would rather spend time with my wife. So I will play a game for about 30 minute increments then do something else. So shorter games are better, otherwise it would take me forever to finish one.

The only exception to this is games with local co-op campaigns. If you can beat the game with a partner, it allows me to do something with the wife, so we can spend hours in it. So if I do spend time on longer games, it's ones like Borderlands, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, and Luigi's Mansion 3.

Though half the time we just play Minecraft and work on our village.

This advice goes for any hobby. And, I can't stress this enough, make time for your hobbies. Learn something new. Paint, play an instrument, game, anything. Make time for it. You don't want to be in a cycle where all you do is work, handle your responsibilities, and then maybe watch tv in your downtime, you get burned out quickly and never feel satisfied.

Uncharted was not on my radar until it was a free game on PS+. Then I played it and enjoyed it. I would have gotten into the series much earlier if I had known.

Yeah... Yeah. Though I will say, with switch, I have been playing more turn based and strategic stuff because I can put it and pick it up in even smaller increments like when I'm poopin

It was my first uncharted game so I'm not really familiar with the franchise, so I'm looking at it with fresh eyes. And man it's just kind of...dated? Like it's cool to see these big vistas and cliffs and stuff, but there's no gameplay in the climbing...at all. it's just holding up and tapping X until you reach the spot.

I'd get it if the climbing actually had some game to it. Like, the possibility of falling...

There were many cool sequences in the game like the car chase and the tower fall that were just awesome but the climbing drags on a bit.

For me, with the added responsibilities of adulthood (owning a house/upkeep/pets/spouse/work) I have to be okay with only having time for either one, maybe two games that demand lots of time. All I play is destiny 2 there's just not enough time for anything else. Or I could do a handful of story/linear games every couple months but that's not what I've ever really like much.

Yeah.... I think I fought against it long enough, but I'm finding less and less time for gaming. Even when I do have a moment I normally end up sitting on my couch scrolling through the absolutely insanity that is my back log and never actually making a decision on playing anything. My daughter is 15, she'll be driving next year, then it's time to think about college, but my wife and I are also talking about moving to a place where the cost of living isn't so high. I just don't have the time or energy to sit and play games like I used to.

That's a thought that used to bother me, but I've found in 2020.... when sitting on the couch has been my only option for months out of this year, I've realized that there are other things I would rather be doing.

Yes. I can't game like I used to. 5 years ago I'm playing fps like it was no tomorrow. My fps these days are over. My eyes strain the fuck out and looking in the mirror I have bloodshot eyes.

Pokemon? SHSW I didn't even buy the expansion dlc. I think I'm done with SHSW. Caught 1 shiny G Stunfisk my first playthrough, beat the story and I'm done. I can't breed like I used to anymore or else I fall asleep on the switch. My last login was a couple months back.

Dude, I think being a casual gamer is so much better. I still love gaming, but the thought spending all my free time gaming or to do nothing on a Sat or Sun but game is a huge turn off for me (though there are exceptions to this like bad weather or something)

I mean if thats what someone wants to do then more power to them, but I'm fine with playing 6 or 7 hours a week. It might take me around 6 months to beat something like Red Dead 2, but I'm ok with that
