Well yeah. Most comedians are misanthropes who deal with their negative feelings and thoughts through comedy. It makes sense that they would use their platform to try and get through to a broader audience. It's smart of them, too. And welcome.

You should really appreciate Dave for more than his comedy. He's very insightful and intelligent. His newest special might have been more current event focused, but that's not crazy or unexpected. It was still hilarious.

Im saying that hell slowly remove the humor element from his act and just be all serious about his subjects instead of making them funny.

How can this possibly be something thats shrugged off? Are you that much of a fanboy that its not only fine, but encouraged for a comedian to no longer be funny?

Jesus I love Dave Chappelle as much as the next guy, but that doesnt mean hes a perfect bulletproof God thats immune from any sort of criticism.

You can criticize him if you want. Others may be ok with it. Like myself.

It's his choice how he wants to deliver his comedy and if he wants to transition to an overall message rather than jokes. Find comedy from another comedian if it bothers you.

George Carlin is fun to listen to and I agree with what he said about things like American consumerism, but he was not actually FUNNY most of the time to me.

I've never found Dave Chappelle that funny either, so I don't mind if he changes as long as what he says is insightful.

You started off by just saying that Chappelle was changing his act to be more like Carlin.

When people said they didn't mind, you said that Chappelle won't have any humor and started implying that people who didn't have a problem with this are fanboys and put him up as a God that is not able to be criticized.

Meanwhile, most of the people in this topic have said they don't mind his new direction because he is a smart, intelligent, insightful dude and they appreciate his development as a comedian or as a speaker.

You are the one that has a problem with this. Maybe others do too, but a lot of people in this topic don't. Feel free to have feelings about it but understand that not everyone feels the same way as you or finds a need to criticize him.

Hes a master at skit comedy but his standup isnt anywhere near that level. He gets way too much attention in favor of younger comics out there on their grind.
