Yeah. Their bot might be tough but damn if the motors don't run hot. IIRC in the previous season they had to dial down their weapon at one point to prevent a full burn out of the motors.

There should be a bout between Witch Doctor and Hypershock just to see how much smoke can fill the battle box.

On an unrelated note, that fight between Huge and Mammoth was hilarious. At some points Mammoth looked like a small trebuchet that was trying to throw itself.
I believe one of the belts for Witch Doctor's weapon broke. If it got jammed between the drum drive it would heat up and smoke but not really hurt anything. No idea if that was the cause or a motor, but it was smoking a long time and still going, so it's possible it was just the broken belt.

On the subject of smoke, watch enough of the show and you can begin to identify the different components behind any particular type of smoke. For example, batteries going up have a very specific smoke pattern. Often times you'll hear the drivers call it out the moment they see it. If wiring or rubber burns it has a darker color, and based on the location of the source drivers can usually tell what on their bot has gone up in flames.

Basic white smoke like that which doesn't immediately break the bot is usually due to motors heating. Witch Doctor, Hypershock, and probably some others I'm forgetting at the moment have a pattern of running motors hot.

Hydra vs Witch Doctor was a bullshit decision. Hydra's countdown probably shouldn't have stopped. It's a shame that Battlebots etiquette is to not attack stalled bots because Witch Doctor could have attacked an apparently not dead Hydra during that stall period.

I totally agree, Hydra wasn't moving enough and the countdown shouldn't have been stopped. After thinking about the fight more (and seeing a discussion post with a picture of the three judges' scorecards that was posted on Reddit) I do believe that Hydra deserved to win the judge's decision, but it never should have gone to a judge's decision to begin with.

Apparently Hydra was more mobile than the TV cut would have us believe.

And I'm not sure that Witch Doctor chipping away at the mostly immobile Hydra would have made too big a difference, since they could barely spin up the weapon while missing a chain.

Whatever, I'm just gonna rewatch the real main event Huge vs Mammoth for the fifth time.
