The sales are in so far for both XBOX Series X vs PS5 and who came out the victor..analysts have been expecting PS5 to dominate the sales race despite the shocking loss of Bethesda as both consoles are "hard" to find thanks to short supplies and scalpers.

But unsurprisingly Sony came out on top and defeated XBOX Series X worldwide where now 2.1-2.5 million PS5s were sold compared to 1.2 to 1.4 million XBOX Series X.

Both consoles had the largest launch in history of their respective platforms but for Sony's especially it's been huge worldwide as gamers are in a mad rush to purchase the console despite it's "weaker" hardware

The race for the holiday season of gamers is just about to begin as both manufacturers are racing to release their consoles to get a big enough market for big 3rd parties to release their games on.

Do you think Sony's "weaker" hardware and the loss of Bethesda games to Microsoft is enough to hurt its sales in the long term?

I mean all xbox players i personally know are skipping this one cause most games are gonna be on PC as well. So they are going with PS5.

that's the same thing as last gen. like 99% of xbone was on PC. like 90% was on ps4.

they never said bethesda won't be on ps5 right? that's a huge amount of sales they'd miss out on. same if they don't do a switch version.

I've just always preferred Xbox.

Playstation has always been an exclusives console to me. If I want to play anything that is on both, I get it for Xbox. Also the controllers are worse.

Yes, AMD has earmarked more wafers from TSMC for Playstation than for Xbox.

Yes. Although PS5 outselling the XSX shouldn't be a surprise at all considering stuff like xCloud, PC and XSS.

Yep. Sony went into production ahead of the Xbox because Microsoft was waiting for some particular features for their design. It's also why the Dev kits for the PS5 were out in advance of the Xbox Dev kits.

IMO, the Xbox is a good series of consoles, but it sucks how as far as exclusives go, it doesn't really have any.

like, if you're planning to play any property that MS owns, you might as well get a PC.

but the average gamer doesn't play on PC like they do on console, so I guess it's a decent strategy to put out the Xbox for those who do.

I tried explaining problems with MS strategy before the console launched and was called a Sony fanboy despite wanting MS to succeed. I honestly don't get the crazy obsession people get with their one console of choice. I just buy anything that has games I want on it. I certainly don't like Nintendo, but I want to play their stuff so I buy their hardware. Sony is largely the same story. Microsoft had so much going for it with 360 and then they just decided to stop trying to be a competent competitor last generation and this generation although certainly better than "you can't play XBox One without motion controls, oh wait you actually can, please buy it now" is still looking poorly planned out. I honestly don't know why Microsoft is so bad at this when they have access to so much money and data.

Enjoy what you game on, if you have brand loyalty or corpo loyalty thats weird, we all enjoy gaming for the most part I assume.
