For every cool picture i take there are thousands that got missed.

But yours are also smaller, they will become calmer later.

Also silver tried bothering the older sister once, she got punted on the face.

Picked up the gato today. She is very timid and whenever I leave my room she hides because I guess she doesn't know what the sounds outside are. But I just bribe her to come back out with a treat and she is surprisingly social. I also pulled out a laser pointer but probably shouldn't because she keeps looking around for it even though its been 15 minutes after I turned it off >_>

She's a feral kitten thats been fostered for two months and they guessed that her birthday is around August 1

She doesn't like not being near me and was willing to sleep on my cold ass floor. So now she's napping on her cheap pos bed I bought last night on Amazon and had delivered less than 10 hours later lol

It's amazing that she chose to use something you bought for her. Cats are usually spiteful and will nap next to their cat bed (from my experience) lol

Yeah I was worried about the same thing happening so everything I bought except the food has been the cheapest versions of whatever I could find

But now we already have a routine where I leave the room for <5 minutes, come back, let her sniff my hand from her hiding spot, she rubs over me for a minute or so and then flops back on the bed while I sit at my desk. Gonna have to break this cycle eventually but she's only been here for just over 5 hours

Love affair ended abruptly. Cat's been hiding under my bookshelf all morning. It slept on mat I posted above, I petted it and then fed it, and then it went under the bookshelf when I left to go to the bathroom and now it's 4 hours later

If she's been living outside for a while she may take a while to this permanent change. I would let cats that lived around the apartment in but leave the door open as they'd want to leave after a while

Yeah, just be patient. Even though she's young, it's a new environment for her. Give her time and space, and use those moments where she feels like being social to give her attention. She'll warm up.

So two days in and now I definitely know I can't use a laser pointer for now as a toy because she gets paranoid af when it disappears and I don't want to endlessly tease her when she paws it and nothing happens. But you guys were right. She's back on her mat now and I didn't even have to beg or bribe her to come out. I remember someone (maybe here on CE) saying that laser pointers can actually have harmful long term effects since the cat can't actually interact with the object - I got a stick/string thing that I can entice the kittens with but also put away so they see it is still there.

As for not being able to move because of a sleeping cat... welcome to the world of being a cat servant :P

you can use laser pointer as long as you end the session with something biteable/claw able so the kitties think they killed something

Mfw Mocha naps during the day near me, and the three nights I've had her and slept in 3 different places (office, dining table don't ask, couch) I woke up to her sleeping near me

I get worried about the collar sometimes but I can easily fit 3 fingers between it and her neck and my hands are pretty big, so she has plenty of room to breathe. I'm not going to take her collar off indoors until I get her more used to my place (so I can find her; she's hiding a lot less even after a couple of days) and I'm planning on trying to walk her around outside on a harness and leash in a couple months. So just in case I or some visitor has a brain fart leaving a door open for too long and she gets out, there's some hope that she won't vanish forever.

Is it a breakaway collar? I always use breakaways for my cats. One morning, one of them was strutting around naked (what I call it when they're not wearing collars). After some searching, I found his collar stuck in the wire racks of my pantry (which he regularly pries open because the door is broken). Now, I don't know for a fact that it would have strangled him had it not been a breakaway collar, but I don't like to take the chance. The collars are pretty good about staying on as long as they're not snagged (which is by design) but my old cat slammed into a closed door (in a desperate attempt to escape bath time) so hard once that his collar popped right off.

Yeah it's a breakaway collar. She managed to take it off by herself yesterday morning so I'm just gonna let her be for now. She still gets scared whenever I walk towards the front door so I guess I don't have to worry about her sneaking between my feet for a while. But if I know that someone is coming over I'll put it on her

What does breakaway collar looks like?

They generally look just like regular collars. The clasp will typically be a little different, but they'll also be clearly labeled as breakaway collars. If you're not sure, put the clasps together and see how much force just pulling on it takes to open. I think most breakaway collars are supposed to pop open with about five pounds of force, but I still test them even though my big boy (15lbs) would easily tear it open.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but one of my cats constantly grubs for food. Go in the kitchen, she follows you. Sit down to eat at the table? She'll sit right by you and look up at you. Sit down on the couch with a drink and a snack? She'll get right up in your face and demand a bite.

Tonight, I was eating some (extremely bland, don't buy Farm Rich) "mozzarella shapes" and she kept trying to stick her head in the bowl. She even bit me when I went to push her away. I wish I could get her to understand that she doesn't have to scrape for every morsel of food anymore. It goes beyond normal "spoiled cat wanting food." My old cat would frequently beg, but only for certain items and he wasn't this persistent.

Rivel used to be like that, would hound me when i eat, but i just hold a finger up, saying firm, but not yelling "no" while booping her nose with my finger. just keep gently block her head, after few weeks she eventually learn she's not gonna get my food.

i am doing the same for silver too but it's harder so far lol

Hmm that's a nice tree. I would have loved to buy something like that but Mocha doesn't seem to like heights yet, so that's why I settled on a two level cat condo. She still hops on things by using her front paws to pull herself up a little bit

Which is good for now since I won't have to worry about her jumping on my kitchen counter or dining room table if I push the chairs under the table

Silver ended up on my cupboard somehow, i think likes the height as well as rivel. She's on the older side of the kitten spectrum anyway. Very fast. Infinite energy.

Yeah both of mine are starting to get along and it's alot of weight off my shoulders.
