Which one?

I can only get one copy before beating the game, so I can only give it to one Pokemon.

Hidden Power is only special in Gen 3 if the type it gives out is Special.

I'm saying Swellow, Manetric, and Heracross are all physical attackers right. So why would you give them a special attack?

because hidden power could be physical as well in gen 3

also, manectric could work as physical but its generally a special attacker

Hidden Power can be physical in gen 3 if it is a type that is physical. So if Swellow had HP fighting it would be physical.

Hidden Power can be physical in gen 3 if the type is a physical type. Like if Heracross has Hidden Power ghost, then it's a physical move

The question is dumb cause we wouldn't know what type of hidden power your specific pokemon would get.

Also if I were you TC, I would save the game then give hidden power to each Pokemon to see what type each one gets. then you can choose the best candidate based on that information

Outside of doing complicated IV calculations how could I go about doing that?

Teach a pokemon Hidden Power

Use Hidden Power on different pokemon until you get a hit thats super effective. Take note of which elements it could possibly be and then try it out on different pokemon of types weak to the element it could possibly be until you know for sure.

Then reset if its bad.

Cmon son.

Save, then you teach Swellow Hidden Power then fight different Pokemon and hit them with Hidden Power. Check if the attack hits them for super effective, neutral, not very effective damage or if they're immune. Like if you fight a Geodude and Hidden Power does 0 damage then you know it's electric.

Reset and then teach Hidden Power to Manectric and do the same steps. Likewise with Heracross.
