The reason being is that I could feel everything despite freezing that side of my mouth.

After getting injected in a few places with that numbing shit they got to work reaching the tooth. I should've stopped them when I could feel the pain from them slicing open my gums, but I thought maybe it hadn't fully kicked in yet and I shouldn't feel any other pain. I should've stopped them when I could feel the pain from them drilling through my jawbone to reach the tooth.

In the end I stopped them when she was using some sort of screwdriver looking thing, at that point the pain was unbearable. After a few more attempts and them literally injecting me with as much of that shit as they were allowed to, I could still feel all the pain and eventually they had to stop and sew my gums back up.

Now I'm sitting at home in a massive amount of pain. The tylenol 3's they prescribed me ain't doing shit. They said I have to come back soon because they can't just leave the work half done. I'm going to have to go back in there and experience this again. I need the wisdom teeth on the other side removed too but fuck that. Fuck all of this.

that sounds fucking brutal. why can't they just knock you out to do it, or refer you to a dental surgery place that can?

I'm hoping they can do that. I'm feeling actually traumatized over this now that its all over hahaha.

They're lucky they gave me a little plastic thing to bite down on to keep my jaw open near the end though, otherwise somebody might've lost a finger. Prior to that they had me keeping my jaw open on my own.

They should never even think about attempting this procedure if someone is awake. You have every right to feel traumatized from this. This shouldnt even be a thing in 2020-2021.

Lol what? Why? I had my wisdom teeth removed this way and it was fine, all I did was be honest with my doctor about how I felt

Why didn't you have them put you under?

A competent oral surgeon generally should know whether his patient needs to go under anesthesia or not.

It's a pretty normal procedure to do with just local anesthetics.
